Fourth Birthday Party – Frozen Theme
We celebrated our daughter’s 4th birthday over the weekend. She asked for a Frozen themed birthday party and that is what she got! It wouldn’t have been complete without an Elsa princess cake, Elsa & Anna pinata and of course Frozen decorations. It was easy to supplement the decor by adding snowflakes to everything. I was able to gather up some glitter snowflake ornaments, wooden skewers and E6000 glue to create these for the centerpieces. I placed the completed snowflakes on a stick in a vase and bowls (later moved to plastic cups) with a mix of glass beads, marbles and plastic mini snowflakes.
I failed to snap photos of everything before the guests arrived. My husband did a beautiful job of decorating indoors by blowing up pearl pastel colored balloons and putting them on the walls with a mix of paper snowflakes. He hung metallic Frozen streamers from the ceiling and also put up a couple of other Frozen decorations such as a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner and door posters. We bought the Olaf potato sacks for a couple of races and a pin-the-carrot-nose on Olaf for the children to play with for a chance to take home more Frozen toys in between the bounce house that we rented.
Our daughter had seen a Princess Doll cake on one of her Strawberry Shortcake baking apps and really wanted to have one of Elsa made for her birthday. My husband and I had found a really fun Elsa doll cake video tutorial on Youtube by Rosanna Pansino for Nerdy Nummies (click here to view this). After watching the video, we thought that we could totally recreate the cake and if we hadn’t already booked our Busch Gardens birthday celebration for the day before the party, then we probably would’ve gone for it and I may or may not have had a photo of an Elsa princess doll cake to show you now. Instead, we went to Safeway/Vons and asked if they knew how to make one of those. They did have regular pink and purple doll cakes and said that they didn’t offer Elsa but if we wanted to purchase an Elsa doll and bring it in, then they would try and do something for us.
If you like these, they’re available for purchase here.
